Great Hall

The throne room of Sabek Palace. The walls are lined with mounted trophies of all manner of beast slain in King Taron's name. The heads of many Dragul generals and warriors are included in the display.

A durgolium seal rests in the center of the hall's floor. It is decorated with all sorts of ancient symbols. Two thrones are situated at one end of the hall.

A recessed alcove is tucked away between a the remains of a Bugbear and Dragon. It has been boarded up. “DO NOT REMOVE BY ORDER OF TARON” is painted in red across the wooden slats.

Miscellaneous

It was in this room that King Taron learned of the death of his beloved Amalia as she defended the realm from the Dragul. The walls were bear at that time.

King Taron has had the room enchanted to prevent magic from being used on him while he is within hall or upon his throne.

Using the focusing lens, you will notice tiny runes carved into the durgolium seal. Some appear to be Dragul in nature.

If you have Tarik Nowlin's prybar, you will be able to pull the planks away from the alcove. Within the space, you find and pull on a durgolium lever. With loud groans, the seal on the floor opens to reveal a spiral staircase leading to the Chamber of Illusions below.

You are drawn into the room by a gentle ringing sound. Upon entering, you find Sleecrath, Goddess of Binding. She is hold a needle the size of a spear. This is the needle you have been ordered to retrieve.

“Awake, are you? Well, I can always use another servant. Your king has opened a rift in the veil that separates Ulos from the planarverse. One of its tendrils descended, so I had to stop time and secure it. If we don’t stabilize the rift, it will tear Sabek apart, just like they did in the Dragul lands.” - Sleecrath - Silver Thread of Fate (LC1)

Upon visiting the throne room herself, Rose questions how much her childhood acquaintance Taron has changed since she knew him;

It seems Taron’s display of taxidermied heads is even more disturbing to her than she is letting on. She knew Taron fairly well in their youth, and to think that he could enjoy having just a grotesque collection makes her worry not only about him but about her own judgment of character. - Silver Threads of Fate (LC1)

In contrast, the king, though outwardly proud of his accomplishments, himself seems haunted by his collection;

“Dragul hordes!” he cries to his wall of trophies. “Haunt me no more!” With that, he hurls the fireball against the wall with all his might. The thunderous explosion echoes around the hall and rings in your ears long after the smoke has cleared.
“The heads remain,” Taron observes gloomily. “And their souls will continue to seek their revenge.” - Silver Threads of Fate (LC1)
