Hornhelm
Nestled along the north-eastern wall of the Saurian Wasteland, Hornhelm is an active village. It is protected by a wall of stacked stones with a large wooden gate as its entrance. The walls are lined with blackberry brambles.
The town square plays host to a thriving marketplace. Many of the shops boast a brightly colored fabric and open store fronts. Music fills the air. The fragrance of roasting vegetables will often tempt passersby to stop for a quick bite to eat. Local villagers mingle with priests, shopkeepers, and guards.
A large fountain sits in the center of the market. Though water appears to be scarce in the Saurian Wasteland, the fountain spouts water constantly. It cascades over the statue of a long-necked, long-tailed, four-legged reptilian beast.
History
The central statue was built in Hornhelm many years ago. Saurian priests, dressed in purple robes, oversaw the construction. Large cranes were needed to lift the massive statue into place.
The market was originally built to be a sacred location. It was never intended to be used to buy and sell goods. The fountain is representing a deity.
Miscellaneous
Violence is forbidden in the Hornhelm market. Guards patrol the area to enforce this village policy.
