Iron Lid
Located in the southwest region of the Saurian Wasteland, a mysterious iron lid lies in a circular patch of sand. It is quite large and heavy enough to potentially crush a horse. Intricate designs and patterns are carved into the lid.
The Saurians have always been great artisans, and the pattern on this lid reflects their craft. I find it inspiring. Here, even a simple lid will not go unadorned. - Gulpax's Journal (GS-Journal)
On either side of the lid stand two wooden scaffolding, roughly the height of a Troll. A pair of wooden beams are supported on either side and cross in the middle, directly above the iron lid. A steel loop hangs from the beams over the handle of the lid.
Leaning against one of the timbers is an unusual ornate censer.
Mysterious Origins
The iron lid has clearly been placed in this location on purpose. Knocking on the lid produces an echo below, indicating something hollow and possibly deep.
Long ago, Saurian architects hauled the iron lid over rolling timber beams. The fear in their eyes and the urgency of their movements tells you that some unholy horror lurks below. This lid was their best means of trapping it within. - Saurian Wasteland (GS-ADV5)
A crude but effective solution to a meddlesome problem, This iron lid seals something beneath the surface that is too dangerous to keep above. My guess is that whatever the ancient Saurians summoned from Kleetoth still lurks below. I would love to take a peek, but I fear the risk is too great. - Gulpax's Journal (GS-Journal)
