Kaiika
Penguin-based race, hailing from the Frozen Expanse. They are sentient creatures with a social hierarchy.
Notable Characters
History
Legends tell of the Kaiika once being hunted by a Leviathan. Losing many warriors, the Kaiika were eventually able to trap its soul in a gemstone.
Frost Giants have been known to attack the Kaiika, demolishing their villages and taking their kin. Yulora is one such village.
“Look around and see what they’ve done. They abduct and eat our families.” - The Frozen Expanse (GS-ADV6)
Society
Humans tend to live above the ground in settlements close to sources of fresh water. Ever since the split between the Kingdom of Nalos and the Dragul during the Great War, all known Human settlements have been concentrated in Nalos, south of the Abandoned Lands.
Almost all Humans speak Nalos Common. On the other hand, even though the two languages share certain characteristics, Humans are rarely fluent in the Dragul Common Tongue.
Human communities tend to be internally diverse and multicultural. Most Humans also live in cities, towns, or villages alongside the other races of Nalos.
Humans are culturally diverse, with some traditions varying by region.
Young Kaiika can often be found entertaining themselves with a simple game. Six stand in a triangle formation at the end of a length of ice. A seventh hurls themselves down the ice, hoping to knock over as many as possible.
