One of many ichors.

A substance produced by the Insectoids with corrosive properties. The smell of the ichor is said to be overpowering.

Due to its rarity, many consider it to be of great value.

“A valuable discovery,” he says. “Red ichor is slow and corrosive, but when exposed to heat it creates a powerful explosive.” He extracts a small sample, but compensates you fairly for his prize. - Eregrun - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

The fragrance is overpowering, masking over other smells.

“This red one has a powerful stench, and the drones identify each other by smell. In theory, we could use the ichor to mask our scent. - Nayo - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

Even when used in small amounts, this ichor can burn through most objects. It is slow acting but effective.

“They [Insectoids] use it to tunnel into the mountain. The rock dissolves slowly, but the Insectoids are known for their patience. They have been tunneling through these mountains for over a thousand years.” - Khathandor - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

You pour a few drops of the red ichor onto your mining tools. The liquid fizzes as it dissolves, and it eats away at a small chunk of the wooden handle of your shovel. - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

You rub the red ichor onto the rock where the drones have been making their deposits. It fizzes for a moment as the acid slowly eats away at the stone…“ - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

When combined with heat, red ichor can cause a powerful explosion. Even the smallest spark can set it off if one is not careful.

“Not only is it acidic, it also explodes when exposed to heat.” - Nayo - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

You rub the red ichor over the deposits and then strike it with your pickaxe. The collision creates an explosion, caving in the cavern wall. - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

You discover that when combined with blue ichor, the combination allows you to sneak into the Hive without being detected.
