In his dreams, at least, he believes he would make a more fitting king of Nalos.

You warp the dream so that Tomland finds himself in a field of battle. Thousands of soldiers stand behind him. They carry red banners bearing the symbol of a black crow. - Backstory Codex - Dreamweaver (RPA-BC)

Tomland does not hold Taron in high regard, finding him to be a bumbling fool in his private dreams;

His brother, Tomland, watches angrily as the King shouts absurd orders to the soldiers standing around him. - Backstory Codex - Dreamweaver (RPA-BC)

You enter Tomland's dream on the beach of Jolev, and can influence its outcome:

• Push him to overthrow Taron, and shape the dream so he takes the crown himself.
• Sway him to make up with his brother, and shape the dream so the two take on a force of Dragul together.
