[[kobold|Kobold]] priest and eldest child of a powerful [[kobold|Kobold]] family. At the time of [[gulpax|Gulpax]], he was found living in the [[Sacred Caverns|Sacred Caverns]] beneath the [[hive|Insectoid Hive]]. - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

Later became the commander of the invading Dragul horde.

Khathandor was purported to be capable of visiting the dreams of others;

>//“He wasn’t just a warrior, he was also a prophet. According to legend, he had the ability to travel into the dreams of others, even those who lived in the past or the future. Descriptions of those dreams have been passed down through the generations. One such dream, recorded in //The Dreams of Khathandor// is particularly noteworthy;

>//Khathandor describes reliving a famous battle with a hero from the future — someone who was once a member of the [[king_s_guard|King’s Guard]], but would later be known as the King’s Assassin.// - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

It is told by the Kobolds that Khathandor bested the [[immortal_knight|Immortal Knight]] in the [[colosseum_of_ashes|Colosseum of Ashes]];

>//“The [[immortal_knight|Immortal Knight]] was defeated in the [[colosseum_of_ashes|Colosseum]] by my great ancestor, Khathandor,” he explains. “At least, that is what is said in the stories of my people. I wandered aimlessly through a prison and cried for my people to rise up against their oppressors, but they could not hear me; they could not see me. ==== Crack in Kulbak (RPA-ADV5) ====

You see the forces of Khathandor and those of the [[immortal_knight|Immortal Knight]] about to clash on the battlefield in a dream your first night at [[kulbak_prison|Kulbak Prison]]:

  * Aid the [[dragul|Dragul]]:
      * Succeed, and overcome the [[immortal_knight|Immortal Knight]].
      * Fail, and be taken away.
  * Rally behind [[nalos|Nalos]]:
      * Succeed, and overcome Khathandor.
      * Fail, and the [[dragul|Dragul]] emerge victorious.

An encounter with the [[starlit_door|Starlit Door]] shows you that Khathandor's spirit is still here beneath the Prison;

>//You drift into the cell block, passing through the back wall of your cell and find yourself in the prison’s catacombs. There are many spirits here, but one in particular catches your eye: a [[kobold|Kobold]] Warrior holding a magical [[khathandor_s_horn|horn]] of white bone.// - Tome of Encounters (RPA-ADV5)

Later when exploring the Catacombs of [[kulbak_prison|Kulbak]], you find the resting place of Khathandor:

  * Move along and let his spirit rest.
  * Enter the crypt and steal the [[khathandor_s_horn|horn]] he was buried with:

>//The bones of a [[kobold|Kobold]] warrior dressed in full armor lie on a stone slab, his hands folded across his chest and clutching a [[khathandor_s_horn|horn]]. You take the [[khathandor_s_horn|horn]] from Khathandor’s hands, but his body clings to it even in death. You are forced to rip it from his grasp.// - Crack in Kulbak (RPA-ADV5)

  * Overcome the spirit of Khathandor in battle.
  * Fall to Khathandor as his spectral form passes through you.

If you released the restless spirit of Khathandor, it is next seen at the [[giant_mangrove|Giant Mangrove]] of [[bogroot_swamp|Bogroot Swamp]], conversing with the [[demon|Demon]] [[elsifor|Elsifor]] about how you can placate him:

  * Have a trial by turtle:
      * Pass the test, and Khathandor lifts your curse.
      * Fail, and he strips his [[khathandor_s_horn|horn]] you stole from him.
  * Make a blood offering to Urk-an-bak, [[Kobold|Kobold]] god of vengeance:
      * Make a worthy sacrifice, and Khathandor lifts your curse.
      * Fail, and he strips his [[khathandor_s_horn|horn]] you stole from you.



==== The Hive (GS-ADV3) ====

During the reign of [[gimnax|Queen Gimnax]], Khathandor is first encountered as a highly respected priest in the [[sacred_caverns|Sacred Caverns]] of the [[insectoid|Insectoid]] [[hive|Hive]];

>//One of the priests removes his hood, and you are surprised to find that he is a [[kobold|Kobold]]. He introduces

He admits he had grander dreams for himself on the battlefield prior to arriving at the [[hive|Hive]];

>//“I had dreams of becoming a soldier, but my father did not want to lose another son to war. He sent me here.”// - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

Attempting to steal [[revlars_disc|Revlar's Disc]] from the [[sacred_caverns|sacred cavern]], despite violence being forbidden by the priests, Khathandor will fight you to ensure it is returned. Regardless of the outcome, you will no longer be welcome in the [[sacred_caverns|sacred caverns]].

==== Ascending Kethra's Steppe (GS-ADV4)====
Hidden in a wooded vale, you discover signs of a recent encampment. It appears to be freshly abandoned. Suddenly, you are made aware of Khathandor, perched high above on a tree branch. He summons [[insectoid|Insectoids]] to his side with a quick whistle. - Explorer's Guide (GS-Guide-ADV4-3)

He and his entourage ask you to join their cause. - Explorer's Guide (GS-Guide-ADV4-40)
  * Join Khathandor and prepare to be initiated.
      * You impress him as you endure the process.
      * You fail and find yourself bruised and battered, unworthy to join him.
  * Refuse and prepare for battle.
      * Defeat them and send them running.
      * You are no match for Khathandor.
==== The Frozen Expanse (GS-ADV6)====

You will once again meet Khathandor, this time on the shores of a [[frozen_lake|frozen lake]] in the [[frozen_expanse|Frozen Expanse]]. Your previous decisions and alliances will determine your interaction with him at this time.

  * Engage in combat with him.
      * Defeat him and he will flee.
      * Lose to him and he will spare your life.
  * Agree to a temporary truce with him.
      * Travel to the [[frost_giant|Frost Giants]] [[glacial_palace|Glacial Palace]] with him. There you will both make your case to [[lord_kalevaan|Lord Kalevaan]].

====Arcazion Pit (GS-ADV7)====
During the [[battle_of_the_arcazion_pit|Battle of the Arcazion Pit]], Khathandor battles valiantly across the body of a giant [[gurlung_colossus|Colossus]]. Whether he is fighting with or against you has been determined earlier by your choices. 

==== The Scrying Pool (GS-Epilogue) ====

Surviving the [[battle_of_the_arcazion_pit|Battle of the Arcazion Pit]], Khathandor and the [[dragul|Dragul]] once again face off against forces of [[gimnax|Queen Gimnax]] in the [[battle of barrowman hollow|Battle of Barrowman Hollow]]. Severely wounded, he is left for dead by his own soldiers. [[gimnax|Queen Gimnax]] sentences him to live out his life in [[kulbak_prison|Kulbak Prison]].

Dying many years later in [[kulbak_prison|Kulbak]], his memory was kept alive among the [[dragul|Dragul]] people.
