A gigantic frog made of living crystal. Clearly from another [[planes|plane]], it currently lives in a [[subterranean_lake|subterranean lake]] in the [[saurian_wasteland|Saurian Wasteland]].

In order to appease the creature, [[saurian_priests|Saurian priests]] offer sacrifices of dead citizens. They are dropped from [[dunshab_lakebed|Dunshab Lakebed]] above into the [[subterranean_lake|lake]] below. Assuming incorrectly, the frog is not interested in devouring the bodies it is fed. Instead, it is drawn to the treasures that arrive with the bodies.

Decades ago, [[khalo_zat|Khalo Zat]] was successful in opening a portal into [[kleetoth|Kleetoth, Plane of Crystals]], allowing crystalline beings to enter the [[saurian_wasteland|Wasteland]].

You find the crystalline frog in the center of the [[subterranean_lake|subterranean lake]] in the Saurian Wasteland. It is surrounded by floating corpses, dropped from above by the [[saurian_priests|Saurian priests]].

In its mouth, you spy the [[durgolium_box|durgolium box]] that [[zug|Zug]] had been carrying. You believe this artifact is important to your quest.

  * Fight the frog.
    * You defeat the beast and are able to claim the [[durgolium_box|box]].
    * You are nearly drowned. The frog retreats deeper into the water, never to resurface.
  * Use an item.
    * Trial and error reveals the secret. The [[ornate_censer|ornate censer]] will allow you to put the frog to sleep, if used correctly.
