Snow and ice can make traveling dangerous if not properly equipped.  Storms can develop with little warning and can be quite dangerous. Many living creatures have become frozen in ice before they know it. - Explorer's Guide (GS-Guide-ADV6-4)

Wild game is abundant.  The pelts can gather a good price when sold on the mainland.
