A solemn location lined with numerous tombstones. A mausoleum stands behind a locked gate. It is the Royal Mausoleum. It is also the entrance to the catacombs below.

One grave marker stands out amongst the many. It includes a bust of a somber looking Gnome. The engraving reads “Glormax. Inventor. Mother.” Propped beside the tomb is a book, simply called “Symbols, Poems by Betram Hoogna”.

Commander Zalic sends you on an unpleasant mission. You must rid the catacombs of the Vampire threat. To “encourage” you to fulfill your mission, Zalic locks the iron gate behind you as you enter the tunnels.

Following the order of the Queen to deal with the threat of the undead, you wander the graveyard, searching for the entrance to the catacombs below. You find that you are not alone.

• Castien, an Elf initiate priest, is hoping to join the servants of Azema.
• Yuvan Rokta, the cryptkeeper, holds the key to unlock the entrance.
• Tayma, the sister of a known gambler in your group, is tending to her grandmother's grave.
