====== Colosseum of Ashes ======

A spectacular gladiator arena where combatants from all planes fight for glory and freedom. Gladiators can fight with weapons selected from the barracks or their own. Officiated by the Grandmaster of Games and former champion, [[sylvian|Sylvian]], its current champion is [[gashorak|Gashorak]]. The [[immortal_knight|Immortal Knight]] once fought here against [[khathandor|Khathandor]].

>//Beyond the portal, thousands of onlookers cheer in what appears to be an enormous Colosseum. An irresistible force pulls you through to the other side.//

===== Operations =====
Magical black sand fills the battlefield, made up of defeated combatants that are turned into and engulfed by the ground;

>//A wounded gladiator lies flat on her back. When her labored breathing comes to an end, her flesh dissolves into glittering black ash.// - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

Combatants are brought in from several reaches of the [[planes|planarverse]], renowned fighters of their world or those that show promise;

>//You find several rows of bunk beds here and gladiators from at least a dozen different planes of existence.// - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

The stadium itself can seat spectators in the thousands;

When returning to a fighter's home plane, their world is just as they had left; 

>//The [[sylvian|Grandmaster’s]] image fades, and the collar falls from your neck and slips into the ashes. A rift opens in the arena. On the other side, you see Ulos exactly as you left it. The [[sylvian|Grandmaster]] reveals how to return to the Colosseum, should you ever wish to fight again;

===== Control Collars =====
All gladiators are outfitted with control collars for registration and suppressing resistance;

>//Glowing faintly, the collar slides toward you through the ash. It leaps into the air and snaps around your neck.// - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

>//When [[gashorak|Gashorak]] closes in for the kill, her collar lights up and she falls to the ground. In agony, she writhes through the ashes like a worm, clutching at her neck.// - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

The collars also work as projectors, storing recordings of past battles and fighters or making announcements to the combatants;

Lastly, the collars may also be used to reward their wearers with a serum injection for boosting adrenaline and reaction time;

You meet the Grandmaster of Games [[sylvian|Sylvian]] in person once made champion and can read files on the fighters with [[alizar|Alizar's]] password.
