Magical black sand fills the battlefield, made up of defeated combatants that are turned into and engulfed by the ground;

Combatants are brought in from several reaches of the planarverse, renowned fighters of their world or those that show promise;

The stadium itself can seat spectators in the thousands;

When returning to a fighter's home plane, their world is just as they had left;

The Grandmaster’s image fades, and the collar falls from your neck and slips into the ashes. A rift opens in the arena. On the other side, you see Ulos exactly as you left it. No time appears to have passed there during your absence. - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

The Grandmaster reveals how to return to the Colosseum, should you ever wish to fight again;

All gladiators are outfitted with control collars for registration and suppressing resistance;

When Gashorak closes in for the kill, her collar lights up and she falls to the ground. In agony, she writhes through the ashes like a worm, clutching at her neck. - Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes (RPA-SQ1)

The collars also work as projectors, storing recordings of past battles and fighters or making announcements to the combatants;

Lastly, the collars may also be used to reward their wearers with a serum injection for boosting adrenaline and reaction time;

The special chambers are accessed by champions of the Colosseum of Ashes. Filled with memorabilia of all past champions.

At the top of the stairs, you enter a room made of glass. A wide balcony faces the arena.

You meet the Grandmaster of Games Sylvian in person once made champion and can read files on the fighters with Alizar's password.

This is where the gladiators go to condition themselves for their upcoming matches. Here you first meet Gashorak confronting Armaund Ra.

The Colosseum keeps its new fighters for five bouts following a training module, and returning gladiators six;
