Dragonhide Heart

The true heart of the Gurlung Colossus. The room contains a long kitchen counter with various instruments and machinery.

Overhead, a gigantic sack of dragonhide hangs in a dark, spherical chamber. It is massive. It is attached to two pipes. The pipes are controlled by a large valve wheel.

The dragonhide heart itself continually expands and contracts as it pumps oils throughout the Colossus. Oil drips from the heart.

In the days of Queen Gimnax, Gulpax worked in secret to create her Colossus. With the aid of the Flayers, a trio of giant crabs were able to install the gigantic dragonhide heart in the chest of the great machine. - Arcazion Pit (GS-ADV7)

Entering the room, you will find a small hand crank among the many items left on the counter.

A rather large owlbear has taken to nesting near the heart.

• Attack the creature before it is completely aware of your presence.
  • Defeat it easily and it runs from the chamber.
  • Be thankful that it is not hungry after it defeats you. It steals something from your bag before leaving the chamber.
• Attempt to startle it enough to make it flee.
  • It runs quickly from the chamber, seeking a quieter place to nest.
  • You manage to anger the owlbear enough to attack you.

Once the owlbear is dealt with, you can investigate further. You find a set of valve wheels. Turning the valve wheels will allow the heart to once again pump oil through the body of the Colossus.

There is slight chance that you may also encounter a Construct Sentry in the room.

• Attack the sentry while you have a chance.
• Pull the lever on the back of the sentry.
• Quickly scale the walls of the chamber before your are noticed.

If you are clever enough, you may find a hidden compartment under the counter.

You will witness the birth of Gulpax's Colossus as a trio of giant crabs install the dragonhide heart in the chamber above. Your actions in the coming battle will determine if the heart will beat or not.

As skirmishes rage across the Colossus, you will be forced to fight many enemies. Among them will include giant crabs and individuals from your past.
