Temple of Shintal

Wildwood place of worship to the Goblin god of death, Shintal.

Stone gargoyles leer down at you from the top of the Temple of Shintal. - Festival of Heroes (GS-ADV1)

The temple contains a large, bronze idol of Shintal. He holds a golden bowl, which has been well used. Dried blood and remnants of decaying bones can be seen in the bowl. Remains of previous sacrifices. A workbench is available for concocting potions and poisons.

The temple also contains many statues to lesser gods:

To your horror, you realize that one of them is of the Frogkin woman you released from the mines. The statue’s base reads, “Yalaka, Frogkin goddess of nightmares.” - Festival of Heroes (GS-ADV1)

The temple has been recently closed by the decree of Queen Gimnax.

The front doors have been barred, and an edict has been plastered over the wood: “Temples dedicated to the Dragul gods, and all other false gods of destruction and disorder, are closed by order of the queen.” - Festival of Hereos (GS-ADV1)

Festival of Heroes (GS-ADV1)

By making an offering to Shintal in this place, you reveal a hidden area with direct ties to the Order of Assassins;

In response to your sacrifice, Shintal’s eyes light up, glowing red. Hidden gears crank in the shadows and a section of the wall pops open, revealing a secret staircase. - Festival of Heroes (GS-ADV1)

Beneath the temple, you find a long rumored secret room. There have been stories that the Shintal high priests have given sanctuary to the Order of Assassins. This room proves that the stories are more than rumors.

Searching the room, you see a number of tiny scrolls tucked into niches in the stone wall. Each scroll appears to have a name that has been crossed out. Perhaps fallen victims of the assassins?

The walls are also lined with a multitude of small weapons, all befitting an assassin.
