Drones are said to identify each other through their sense of smell.

They will become aggressive once they are provoked or feel threatened.

Drones serve the queen of the hive in a number of ways:

• Offer protection for the queen, the hive, and its members.
• Produce, collect, deposit, and protect blue ichor.

Arriving in Ty Farzan, you encounter an injured Insectoid, known as a Mal'kanor. A swarm of drones is heading its way. You may or may not be able to aid the injured creature.

Nayo witnessed one of the drones carrying the Imbri, the Immortal Knight, into the hive.

Drones can be witnessed near an underground waterfall, pollinating flowers and depositing blue ichor into cracks in the cavern wall. Attempting to scale the wall will agitate them.

Entering the Queen's nest, you are surrounded by drones looking to protect her.
