Mal'kanor
A collective group of Insectoid outcasts banished by the current hive queen and marked by an “X” on their chests.
We are the Mal’kanor. That is the name taken by Insectoids who have been rejected by Queen Laz’arax. We are followers of Urzon, the queen's most trusted advisor. When the time is right, she will join us, betraying her mother and taking control of the hive. - Unnamed Mal'kanor - The Hive (GS-ADV3)
Led by Verash and Urzon during the time of Queen Gimnax's rule, their goals include overtaking the throne and bringing an end to their segregation.

History
Mal'kanor are Insectoids that are dismissed by the hive queen for one reason or another as an egg then disposed of at birth;
“When one of the eggs is rejected by the queen of the hive, they are usually eaten, but those that hatch are branded with an ‘X.’ They’re known as the Mal'kanor (MAL-ka-nor). Abandoned by the hive, they have nowhere else to turn.“ - Eregrun - The Hive (GS-ADV3)

Mal'kanor are hired by Borid to work the Dwarven mines near Ty Farzan. Very often, they are mistreated by the Dwarves. They lead an unexpected uprising against the Dwarves.
- Defend Borid.
- Fight with the Insectoids.
If the Dwarves win, the survivors will be put back to work under heavy guard.
If the Mal'kanor win, they will chase Borid from the mines while slaughtering any Dwarves that surrender. They will then turn their attention to the queen and regaining control of the hive for themselves.
Exploring the tunnels of the Hive, a group of Insectoid drones become agitated by your presence. They drag you into a large hole in the floor. It is a prison. You find yourself surrounded by Mal'kanor, their wings clipped and branded with an “X”. - Explorer's Guide (GS-Guide-ADV3-4)
- If you have a Bogroot Chomper with you, they work with you to force open the gate and escape.
- You may attempt to force them back into the shadows.
- You may attempt to open the lock of the iron gate.
The Scrying Pool (GS-Epilogue)
Following their victory against Laz'arax, the ruling structure of the hive undergoes a major shift. The queen is no longer the leader of the Insectoids but is instead a servant of the hive.
