The potion of purification is a fast-acting agent that works on living things;

You test out Mugbok’s potion on your starfish, and it spews forth a thick, purple goop. The Frogkin elder looks on with mild interest. “Looks like your little friend was sick. It seems to be feeling better now.”

You pour a drop of Mugbok’s potion on your ice slug and it begins to steam. In a few moments, it looks as though the slug has disappeared, but on closer inspection, you see that it is merely translucent. All the impurities from its icy body have been removed. After a few moments, it becomes visible again, its body absorbing material from the air and ground around it. - Bogroot Demon (RPA-ADV6)

Mugbok tasks you with finding interesting ingredients in Bogroot Swamp to make something that can expel Elsifor.

Upon receipt of a baked Basilisk egg, she is able to concoct the potion of purification needed to release Elsifor from the swamp;

Mugbok hops quickly into her hut with the baked basilisk egg and returns a moment later with a blue potion. - Bogroot Demon (RPA-ADV6)

Once poured on the Giant Mangrove, Elsifor is freed:

• If you entertained Elsifor's games, he will offer you one final test:
  • Pass both trials and win Elsifor's approval as he leaves Bogroot.
  • Fail, and Elsifor will find you less promising, but leave Bogroot interested in your progress.
  • Refuse, and you will fight the Demon:
    • Defeat him in combat and Elsifor leaves Bogroot impressed with your resolve.
    • Lose, and Elsifor will mock you as he vanishes in a puff of smoke.
• If not, you will fight the Demon:
  • Defeat him in combat and Elsifor leaves Bogroot impressed with your resolve.
  • Lose, and Elsifor will mock you as he vanishes in a puff of smoke.
