Roll Player Adventures Narrative Brief

ADV1 - Battle at Blacklake

Heroes are called on a special mission to retrieve something from a durgolium chest guarded by Dragul soldiers (Goblins, Kobolds, and an Ogre). They can kill the Ogre or help it. If they solve the puzzle of the chest, they find a jar of strange grey matter.

ADV2 - Taron’s Trophy

Heroes are sent to the Halfling village of Jolev to fetch the head of a Giant Troll for King Taron. They discover two Trolls living in a cave by the beach, and can kill or befriend them. They also meet a Gnome who is a member of the Starlit Door. He encourages them to seek out ancient artifacts.

ADV3 - Outbreak in Undercity

Heroes must clear Undercity of an outbreak of vampirism and slay the offending Vampire. They encounter more members of the Starlit Door, who are plotting an attack on Sabek (capital of Nalos). They can kill the Starlit Door members or agree to join them. They can also slay the Vampire or help it.

ADV4 - Eye of Ulos

Heroes return from Undercity to a giant explosion that rocks Sabek. King Taron's Arena has been attacked and imprisoned gladiators are running amok in the streets. At the same time, a rift has opened in the sky over Sabek Palace. Heroes must calm the chaos in the streets and protect the king from the rift. If they recall the Starlit Door plot, they might first head to the Temple of Ulos to help or hinder their plan to retrieve an artifact. When the heroes arrive at the palace, King Taron flees from strange creatures into another plane. When they are found in King Taron’s chambers with the bodies of dead guards, the heroes are arrested for the king’s murder.

ADV5 - A Crack in Kulbak

Heroes are placed in Kulbak Prison, which is run by Constructs and primarily houses Dragul prisoners of war. They must try to escape and may recover an artifact of power along the way.

ADV6 -- Bogroot Demon

Now on the run from the law, the heroes travel to Bogroot Swamp, home of the Frogkin, where a Demon’s shadow torments the locals. Heroes must locate the Demon’s body and either slay or help the Demon, either way moving it from the swamp.

ADV7 -- Ghost-Eaters of the Forgotten Forest

Heroes flee further north to a town on the edge of the Forgotten Forest that is now full of ghosts. Ghost-Eaters from another dimension have moved into the forest, and the ghosts are all fleeing. Heroes see the ghost of King Taron fleeing from the Ghost-Eaters. A group of Human nobles, a group of Satyrs, and the Starlit Door all have an interest in finding the lost palace, Carleval Castle, hidden somewhere in the Forgotten Forest. Heroes can help any faction. At the end, they find King Taron’s body and help his spirit return to this realm.

ADV8 -- Dragons of the Sunken City

King Taron guides the heroes to the shore where Dragons are working to raise their ancient city from the depths of the sea. While the king travels incognito, the heroes board a boat and either stop the Dragon plot or help them, possibly discovering an artifact of power along the way.

ADV9 -- Gurlung Colossus

King Taron promises to clear the heroes of his murder and sends them north to Gurlung Bay where an ancient, gigantic automaton sits in the water and rusts. Heroes infiltrate the colossus, get it working again, encounter strange creatures from another world, and launch the colossus through a rift into another plane.

ADV10 -- Above the Dreaming Sea

Heroes travel in their colossus to Affril where they seek Sir Faris, the Immortal Knight. Heroes must interact with strange creatures from this world in order to find the Immortal Knight and then return home again to Ulos.

ADV Finale -- The Gates of Brizoor Waal

Back in Ulos, heroes arrive at a massive battle at the ancient site of Brizoor Waal. Rifts to many planes are open, and members of all three factions battle for control of the site, hoping to secure Azema’s blessing. If the King’s Guard win, they will use the power of the gates to rule over all of Ulos. If the Dragul gain control, they will use the gates to establish contact with their homeworlds. If the Starlit Door gains control, they will open Ulos to all of the planes, establishing an open planarverse. Heroes will side with one faction based on their favor accrued over the course of the adventures and may win or lose the battle for the gates.

ADV SQ1-- Deathmatch at the Colosseum of Ashes

Transported to another plane, the heroes must fight to win their freedom and return to Ulos against a wide variety of enemies in the Colosseum of Ashes. They may even be crowned the champion of the colloseum if they are able to defeat the current champion, Gashorak.
