Political Structure/Factions

Each race of Nalos selects its own representative on the Royal Council by its own means. The Council elects a King or Queen.

King's Guard

The military regiment loyal to King Taron and the late Queen Amalia. The guard maintains order within Nalos and is in direct conflict with the Dragul since their invasion.

    • Close advisors to the throne who oversee entire aspects of the Kingdom and have the power, wealth, and respect to match their position
  • Palace Guard

Queen's Loyalists

The military regiment loyal to Queen Gimnax during the time of the Cartographers and the formation of Nalos. The guard maintains order within Nalos and tries to organize the realm under the banner of the new nation. Gimnax's followers are in direct conflict with the Dragul Alliance, who resist Gimnax's growing influence.

Eye of the Starlit Door

A secretive cult group researching the ancient mysteries of Nalos, whose goals may run counter and directly against the crown. Concerned more with the balance of the planes than they are with the fight between the King's Guard and the Dragul.

Dragul

(drah-GOOL)

A coalition of northern tribes, composed of more aggressive races. Invaders of Nalos. They wish to recover magical artifacts that were taken from them. The Dragul have their own societal structures and civilizations in city-states and have rulers on a High Council.

Each Dragul race lives autonomously in its own city-state. They have an annual festival where all celebrate together and leaders discuss shared concerns.

  • Greenwort
    • A gang of scavengers. (BC-Separated)
  • Heroes Guild
    • Keepers of the peace. Under the guidance of the Immortal Knight, members of the guild travel the land, lending their aid and settling feuds. A test of champions is held every year during the Festival of Heroes to recruit new members. (GS-ADV1)
  • Erthalian Order
    • An order of healers living in monasteries throughout Nalos, funded by Queen Gimnax. (GS-ADV1)
  • League of Inventors
    • A group of Nalos inventors. Their guildhall is located in Sabek.
    • Insectoids rejected by their hive. They are marked with an “X” as a symbol of their shame, but many are rebellious, with plans to rise up against their queen and retake the hive. (GS-ADV3)
  • Magus
    • Magic-user who has the ability to open a conduit to a god.
  • Miners Alliance
    • A miners guild. (GS-ADV3)
  • Nobles
    • Members of a royal bloodline. A “gilded elder” wears a sash and is a member of the house.
    • The assassins guild. (GS-ADV1)
  • House Satri
    • One of the noble houses.
    • The soldiers loyal to Queen Gimnax as she establishes the nation of Nalos. (GS-ADV1)
  • Royal Cartographers
    • Headquartered in the Royal Cartographer’s Scriptorum of Sabek under the supervision of Graylox, the Gnome. (GS-ADV2)
    • Priests who have willingly joined the ranks of the undead in order to serve Azema for all eternity in the catacombs beneath the Temple of Ulos. (GS-ADV2)
