Timeline of Known Events

-1000 Azema the Benevolent, weaves elements from each of the planes together to form the world of Ulos.
-1000 The other gods battle for influence in Azema's new realm (this is the period represented in Dawn of Ulos).
-999 Azema takes six key artifacts, one from each of six hub planes, and uses them to power the gate of Brizoor Waal. Azema opens the gate. She invites one representative from each sentient race in the Planarverse to come and form the Council of Founders. This event is known as The Arrival.
0 Azema dies. Her last instructions are to close the gates of Brizoor Waal and to bury the six key artifacts and all other extraplanar objects of power in durgolium chambers. Then, after 3000 years, the people of Ulos are to unearth the artifacts and open the gates, so that her spirit can return. Azema is buried near the southern shores of Ulos
≈0 Temple of Ulos is constructed over Azema's burial site. 
? Castle Carleval is built by the Satyr in the Witchwood (Forgotten Forest). 
≈990 Kulbak Prison is built. 
≈990 The Minotaurs found Perilth on the Shoreside Expanse.
≈998 Queen Gimnax breaks off her affair with Gulpax, the famed inventor, after her consort's loyalties are brought into question.
≈998 In a secret exploratory mission to the Frozen Expanse, Gulpax makes a deal with the Frost Giants and the Flayers of the Arcazion Pit, allowing her to create a new laboratory away from the prying eyes of the Queen of Nalos.
1000 After a millennium, the location of the artifacts has been forgotten. Under the command of Queen Gimnax, residents of the southern continent have built Sabek City in the land surrounding the Temple of Ulos. Then they begin mapping their world and laying claim to territory, actions sometimes resisted by the less organized residents of the north. (This period of history is represented by Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale) Territorial conflicts between the southern kingdom, now known as Nalos, and the northern kingdom, now known as the Dragul City-States, escalates into war. 1001 Queen Gimnax outlaws worship of the Dragul gods. Fearing an outbreak, she orders the catacombs beneath the temple of Ulos to be cleansed of the undead, despite the fact that the undead priests are venerated by many as “servants of Azema.” Lord Rokta rebels, escaping from Sabek before the queen is able to arrest him for his crimes.
1001 As tensions rise between the forces of Nalos and the Dragul, Bugbears set fire to the Dwarven mines of Lorkheim.
1001 Angered by a perceived alliance between the Heroes Guild and Queen Gimnax, the Dragul hire the Order of Assassins to attack the Immortal Knight and other guild members.
1001 The Dragul and the forces of Nalos battle in the Frozen Expanse in what later becomes known as the Battle of the Arcazion Pit.
1002 As a result of Gulpax's betrayl, Queen Gimnax bans the League of Inventors. Experimentation is outlawed, ushering in an dark age for scientific discovery.
≈1028 General Khathandor is buried in the catacombs beneath Kulbak Prison, where many of the Dragul soldiers who served under him are now detained. 
≈1029 Through a great calamity, the Abandoned Lands are created, a vast swath of uninhabitable terrain. 
≈1029 As part of the ripple effects of these cataclysmic events, the Frozen Expanse melts, leaving only a small chain of surviving islands in its place.
≈1029 Myrros, the capital city of the Dragon, sinks into the Eastern Sea.
≈1029 After the cataclysmic events in the Abandoned Lands, the forces of Nalos and the Dragul meet in battle at Barrowman Hollow, a treacherous valley cutting through the Stonespine Mountains.
1030 After what became known as “the Great War,” Nalos and the Dragul sign a treaty known as the Final Peace. Both sides agree to leave a strip of land between them unpopulated. The Dragul will remain in the North, the kingdom of Nalos in the south, and between them the Abandoned Lands (where the Gates of Brizoor Waal lay in disrepair).  
1030 The Duntum family is granted deed and title to Castle Carleval, originally built by the Satyr in the Forgotten Forest.  
2000 A group of folks from Nalos form the Starlit Door, an occult group dedicated to the study of ancient sites and ancient artifacts. Their aim is to be in possession of the six key artifacts on the year of Azema’s return.
2965 Hortgully establishes the dungeon-crafting school in the Stonespine Mountains (represented by Stonespine Architects).
≈2984 Zerith and Eklar, two scholars from the Starlit Door, return to the ruins of the Arcazion Pits beneath the Frozen Expanse, uncovering an artifact hidden by Gulpax the Crafter.
2985 The Starlit Door secretly infiltrate the Dragul City-States looking for the six key artifacts. They unearth some powerful extraplanar objects but do not find the six keys to Brizoor Waal. The unearthing of these objects creates rifts over the Dragul homelands. These rifts gradually make the north unlivable.   
2990 The Dragul discover the Starlit Door plot. Enraged that citizens of Nalos have violated the Final Peace and made their land unlivable, the Dragul declare war on Nalos. This conflict is known as “the Dragul Invasion.” (This period of history is represented by Roll Player, Monsters & Minions, and Fiends & Familiars, and Lockup: A Roll Player Tale)  
≈2990 After a devastating attack on their city by the Dragul, Queen Amalia allows the Minotaurs to use laborers from Kulbak Prison to rebuild their dungeons and labyrinths.
≈2990 Queen Amalia dies during the war against the Dragul, leaving her husband, King Taron, to rule in her place.
≈2990 Glavrun, the Dragul's greatest wartime strategist, is captured. In solitary confinement at Kulbak Prison, she invents the card game, Goblin Vaults (This game is represented by Golbin Vaults), which quickly spreads in popularity amongst the other Dragul Prisoners – and even some of the Construct guards.
? Slaying of Mortish Soot-tongue - Hydra who led a thousand Kobold soldiers over Brokentooth pass during the Dragul Invasion. Said to be slain by King Taron. In truth, Bisthum of Orkholm was the slayer.
? Battle of Gurlung Bay.

3000 In the year of Azema’s return, the Dragul are nearly defeated. Prisoners of war have been sent to Kulbak Prison or to fight in Taron's Arena. The Starlit Door discovers that the six key artifacts are hidden in Nalos and begins to search for them. (This period of history is represented by Roll Player Adventures)
